Is the festival in-person or online?
Both! Participants can choose to attend Vivace in-person or online. All course details are the same whether participants are online or in-person.
What if I change my mind between in-person and online?
While you must choose whether to be online or in-person at the time of your application, the festival will accommodate you as much as possible. Should you change your mind, be in touch with us and we’ll do our best.
How many master classes/lessons do participants receive?
Festival participants receive five 45-50 minute master classes/lessons.
Can I observe the festival but not participate?
Yes! You can join us in-person as an auditor, or you can purchase tickets to watch events online. For specific information visit https://vivacemusicfoundation.org/auditor-information/
When is the application deadline?
The deadline to apply is April 11 for all Vivace 2022 programs. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
If I choose to participate online, what do I need at home?
Participants wanting to apply for Vivace Online 2022 must have access to the following resources to be eligible to apply:
- A high quality USB microphone
- High-speed internet connection (ethernet preferred; the higher the speed, the better!)
- A laptop or desktop computer (no phones or tablets)
Are all faculty in-person?
All of our faculty will be with us in Wilmington except in a few cases when faculty will join us virtually. Check the program pages for specific information.
Whether participants are in-person or virtual, they will have the opportunity to study with both in-person and virtual faculty.
What COVID protocols will the festival require?
Great question! Vivace will follow all recommendations by the CDC and the State of North Carolina to ensure we are offering the safest conditions possible. Since those recommendations are constantly changing, Vivace will update participants with those protocols as we get closer to the festival.
When will I find out about application results?
Applicants will be notified of admission results approximately two weeks after the application deadline. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
